Cacao nibs are pieces of cocoa beans, which come from the Theobroma cacao tree. To make nibs, the beans are first fermented and then dried before they’re roasted and cracked.
Not only are cacao nibs delicious, but they also have countless health benefits. Pure cacao nibs are naturally high in fiber, protein, and healthy fats, yet low in sugar. They are also a brilliant plant-based source of iron; making it a great addition to any vegan diet.
Cacao nibs make an excellent addition to many dishes, including smoothies, baked goods, meat dishes, oatmeal, yogurt, health bars, and beverages.
Main cacao nibs’ health benefits: They are high in antioxidants and fiber.
Cacao nibs have a bitter, complex flavor of unsweetened dark chocolate, with a firm but chewy texture similar to roasted coffee beans.
The year we started producing superfoods, we founded Happy Little Faces, a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for impoverished children in our local community of Lima, Peru. In 2010, we built a kindergarten from scratch, providing free education, lunches, and extra-curricular activities for local children who would otherwise not have these opportunities.
We are proud to say that our initiative has grown successfully in Lima. We thank you for being a large part of our growth as an organization, and for helping the local communities of Peru.
